A nude beach in China? Don't hold your breath!
A nude beach in Xiamen province was proposed when it became clear that more swimmers choose not to wear clothes, reports The Strait Herald.
Heated online debates were stirred by a naked surfer, in his 40s, who was seen near Huandao Road on August 19, 2011.
On the same day, a man was pictured swimming in the Xiada Reservoir without his clothes on. This follows two female expats filmed naked two weeks ago at the Baicheng Bathing Spot.
However, the suggestion has come in for much opposition and given the conservative nature of Chinese society it's unlikely that such a move will succeed.
Much as we'd like to report to the contrary, it seems that mainland China is still resisting the allure of naturism.
