The membership of the American Association for Nude
Recreation (the USA's largest and most long-established organization nudist organisation ) is
shrinking. The association once had over 50,000 members but in recent years
the figure has dropped to about 35,000.
Spokesman Tom Mulhall believes that the fall in numbers reflects the reluctance of younger people to join an organisation which they perceive to be redundant and a little stuffy, prefering instead to practice a more informal type of nudity. The solution? Trying to get attract younger members.
It's not simply to have more naked people wandering around their clubs,
Mulhall says, but to ensure the future of nudism.
